What is Paint and Sip?
Paint and Sip FAQs
Do I need to sign up in advance? We have limited seating and often sell out, it is recommended that you sign up in advance in order to reserve your seat. You can do this by signing up online by clicking onto the Calendar tab. Simply click onto the class that interests you, and that will bring you to the registration and payment page. If a class that you are interested in is full, shoot us an email or give us a call and we can put you on our waiting list as cancellations can happen. We ask that you sign up ahead of time also so that we can ensure that we have enough materials for all painters. Please note, if no one has signed up for a class by 5pm that day we will typically cancel the class.
What time should I show up for a class? We recommend coming into the studio 10-15 minutes before the class since we start painting at the designated time. This also allows you some extra time to order your first drink before we dive into painting.
Is there a minimum age requirement for classes? Our classes are for artists of all ages! We have espresso drinks, hot chocolates, steamers and bottled soda for our Van Gogh's who are <21 years of age. We do ask that guests 18 years or younger during an evening class be accompanied by an adult.
What if I don't drink wine or beer? We offer a variety of espresso drinks, hot chocolate, steamers and canned sodas as well.
What if I'm late to a class? We understand that unexpected things can happen in life. No problem! Feel free to jump in wherever we are at in the painting and the instructor during the next break will touch base with you to help get you caught up.
What is your cancellation policy? We request that you cancel at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class from our waiting list. You may cancel by phone or online. If you have to cancel your class, we offer you a credit to your account if you cancel before the 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards any future class. If you do not cancel prior to the 48 hours, you will lose the payment for the class. We are reasonable and understand things can come up in life, if you have any questions regarding the cancellation policy feel free to reach out to us.
What do I wear? We do supply aprons, however it is a good idea to wear something that you wouldn't mind getting a little paint on. Keep in mind we are an art studio and paint can...and will end up anywhere! Feel free to bring a smock of your own or different shirt to change into if your continuing your night out on the town. Please note that Creative U is not responsible for paint getting on personal items.
Can I bring food? You are welcome to bring in food. We offer some simple desserts and bags of chips for purchase, or you are welcome to order appetizers ahead of time from any one of our local restaurants, but please do so before 6:30 so that we can begin painting on time. We can also recommend and coordinate local catering for private parties as well! However, no outside beverages are allowed, with the only exception being water. This is a state law when a business holds a liquor license. Which we do!
What are the prices of a class and what does it include? Classes range from $20 to $50 depending on materials and time involved for each class. Our calendar includes prices for each class. The price includes a 2-4 hour class with professional instruction, all supplies, set up and clean up, and of course your beautiful work of art to take home! Please note: our classes no longer include a drink, please see our blog for additional information regarding this.
Can I tip the Artist for doing a great job? Of course! As we all know, tips are generally given when good service is given. We believe that being taught how to paint a painting is quite a service indeed! Of course, tips are not mandatory, however if you feel like your artist deserves a tip then by all means please do.
Can I bring in my own alcohol? As mandated by the State Liquor Licensing department absolutely no outside alcohol is allowed as we carry a liquor license. Please do not jeopardize our license by trying to BYOB.
Where do I park? There are a few parking spaces in front of Creative U, but we have our own parking in the back of the shop off of N. First Ave. There is also plenty of parking in the RTD parking lot just west of our parking lot, also located off of N. First. Ave. We also have an entrance in the back of the studio for easy access from those lots. ADA entrance from the front.
I can't even draw a stick figure! Are you sure I can do this? OF COURSE! You need no experience or art background to attend. Every step is taught by an educated and talented art instructor with many breaks throughout the class. Our intention is to take the fear out of the project. Art should be fun and that's exactly what the point of these classes are!
Does Creative U provide alcohol? Yes! We have a variety of wine, bottled beer and hard ciders at an additional cost. We often run bottle specials as well!
